On April 18, 1966 I was born at Anderson Memorial Hospital in Norway, Michigan. Norway is located on the south/central border of Michigan's Upper Peninsula (U.P.). Being born in the U.P. makes me a Yooper.
After graduating from Norway High School in 1984 I attended Michigan Technological University, where in 1989 I earned a BS degree in Computer Science. In addition to my degree I also obtained Michigan Secondary Education certification, majoring in computer science and minoring in mathematics. My teaching internship was at Iron Mountain High School, Iron Mountain, Michigan.
On August 10, 1996, I married Ruth Lindquist at Hope Lutheran Church, where we are both members. We live in West Bloomfield, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. I am the secretary for the Detroit Chapter of the MTU Alumni Association, and I play French Horn in the Farmington Community Band.
I am a Senior Information Specialist at EDS and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. I am also a freelance writer and the author of How To Do Everything For Your Pocket PC & Handheld PC. Articles that I have written have been published by Windows CE Power Magazine, Uplink.com, PocketPC.com, and Pocket PC Magazine. In February I became a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional for Windows CE. You can read about my experience with Windows CE here.
Prior to working for EDS I was a sports reporter for the Daily News in Iron Mountain, Michigan.
