What is ActiveSync?

Microsoft has released ActiveSync Version 3.0.  This software replaces Windows CE services versions 2.0 and 2.2.   This means that it will work with Windows CE versions 2.0 and greater.  The most significant thing about this software is that Microsoft has changed the way communication works between the device and desktop computer.  That means ActiveSync does not use RAS or Dial-Up Networking, and that should help fix many of the problems that users have been having with CE Services.

Here is a summary of information and reviews about ActiveSync V3.  If you want to skip all of this you can just go and download the software from Microsoft's web site.  You can also order the ActiveSync CD at 800-565-3061 for just $8.95 shipping & handling.
