Big trouble in Pistonville. Chauncy Billips has just turned an ankle. There is a little over two minutes left, and the Pistons have a seven point lead. They may win this battle, but lose the war if Chauncy's injury is severe.
10:48:29 PM

The Pistons are shooting the lights out... literally, the game is delayed because some of the lights in the Palace are out.
8:25:43 PM

Ok, it's Pistons and Sixers... second round of the NBA playoffs. Pistons in seven?

I see that the Detroit Lions went ahead and drafted Charles Rogers. They didn't have much of a choice really, because they need a big play receiver to compliment Joey Harrington. It will be interesting to see whether Rogers can have a big impact in his rookie season.

The Wings have lost their second game. Right now they aren't playing with enough emotion to win in the playoffs. They could be swept. I'll be surprised if they get past Anaheim. They just don't look hungry enough.
9:05:51 PM

One period is over in the second playoff game between Anaheim and Detroit. The Ducks lead 1-0 after Curtis Joseph let in a bad goal. The Ducks are playing really good and are getting great goal tending. This is not looking good for the Wings.

Ok, the game is going into a third overtime. The Red Wings have dominated in overtime.
11:11:42 PM

Wings and Ducks are playing in round 1 of the playoffs. The game is going into the second overtime. The Wings got a power play in the first overtime, so I am expecting a penalty to be called on them during the second won. Will the Wings win this?

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Wild are up 3-1 on the Colorado Avalanche. Go Wild!

Kansas' blowout of Marquette makes it difficult to predict who will win Monday night. Is Kansas that good, or Marquette that bad? I think it will be a close game. Kansas may have a little bit too much team speed for Syracuse, so I'll go with the Jayawks, but I am really impressed with Carmelo Anthony.
11:23:55 PM

It's over. Syracuse wins 95-84. Monday night pits Kansas against Syracuse. Jim Beheim against Roy Williams, both looking for their first NCAA title. That pits a #2 seed against a #3 seed. Carmelo Anthony is awesome.
11:21:53 PM

Texas comes back down the court. Clank, off the back of the rim and McNamara is fouled again.
11:16:39 PM

Texas comes back and hits a big three, the lead is four with a minute left and a time out. Texas needs a stop on this posession. Texas fouls McNamara for Syracuse, McNamara is a good free throw shooter. The lead is back to six.
11:15:51 PM

Texas missed an easy shot that would have cut the lead to four. Syracuse is on the foul line, but missed the first one. One minute left.
11:13:04 PM

Foul by Syracuse stops the clock and gives Texas to put points on the board while the clock is not ticking. The Orangemen don't want any fouls.
11:10:06 PM

Oh, oh. Syracuse is getting away from their game by trying to work time off the clock. A little bit of the ole four corners from the Dean Smith days at North Carolina. But they aren't getting any points, so they might be opening the door for Texas. There is four minutes left. Orangemen up by seven.
11:01:50 PM

I think it's over. Syracuse is up 78-66 with 6:49 left. Texas is being taken out of their game and Anthony is playing like a mad man for Syracuse.
10:55:16 PM

A little spurt by the Orangemen has them up by five at little over ten minutes left. You know, I am wondering why Michigan State didn't switch to a zone when they played Texas. It looks so effective against Texas.
10:42:27 PM

They're exchanging leads now. It looks like this game is going down to the wire. I want Syracuse to win.
10:23:46 PM

The Syracuse/Texas game is much better than the Marquette/Kansas game. Syracuse has been leading the entire game, but Texas has just tied.
10:15:55 PM

Well, that was a disappointing game, with Kansas winning big over Marquette. I'm not too disappointed that Kansas won since they have paid their dues. I hope they play well in the final.

It's a route with Michigan State up big. You got to love the way Tom Izzo gets his team up for the tournament. All year they have been saying that Michgan State has not been playing up to their potential, and that they are a very talented team. They are young, and momentum plays big in tournaments like these. Plus, they played some big games against Kentucky and Oklahoma, and that has given the team a lot of confidence. State could go far in this tourney.
8:55:21 PM

State is up by ten, 37-27 at the half. Perhaps the Spartans are peaking at the right time. They sure look like a good team.
8:01:49 PM

Spartans are up by ten at the four minute mark of the first half.
7:42:56 PM

Purdue couldn't pull off the upset and beat beat Texas. Michigan State plays next, can they beat Florida?

The Red Wings had a bad game this evening against Annaheim, so the winning streak is over. Just one of those nights I guess. It didn't help to have six straight penalties called against you. Almost as if the refs saw the last gam against St. Louis and decided they had to call it tight in order for the Ducks to have a chance.

The refs wouldn't do that, would they?

I wonder if the Wings will be able to pick up a player by the trade deadline.
